A’s take game two in Haysville


Haysville, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City A’s bounced back from a loss Friday night to get a 10-5 win

The A’s jumped out in front early scoring three runs in the top of the second inning including an RBI groundout by Sean Noel and an RBI sac-fly Isaiah Haddad. The score would remain 3-0 until the sixth inning when Dodge City added two runs on a base hit by Conner Van Cleave to make it 5-0.

The  A’s(2-1) exploded in the top of the seventh scoring five runs including a two run triple by Jake Cruce and RBI singles by Blake Shinkle and Kyle Cullen to make the score 10-1.

The Aviators(1-4) would score two in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Jack Cuccinota and an RBI sac-fly by Shea Guttierez. Haysville would also score two runs in the ninth on a bases loaded walk and a passed ball to make the score 10-5.

Brady Rodriguez(1-0) got the win for Dodge City pitching six innings allowing one run on two hits and five strikeouts. Conner Van Cleave led the A’s at the plate going 2-2 with a pair of single and two RBI. Jake Cruce was 1-2 with a triple and two RBI.

The A’s will play the series finale Sunday night at 7 p.m. with the pregame at 6:45 on Super Hits 95.5 and swksradio.com
