A’s sweep Haysville in walk-off fashion

Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City A’s beat the Haysville Aviators Sunday night 2-1 on walk-off homerun from Adam Hollar in the bottom of the 11th inning.

While Hollar had the big hit the A’s pitching was just as important. The three Dodge City pitchers combined for 19 strikeouts and allowed just one run on seven hits. Robert Gonzalez pitched the first 5.1 innings striking out nine and allowing one run on five hits, his night was ended following a 30 minute weather delay. Following the delay Mark Woinarowicz pitched the next 1.2 innings striking out three and allowing just one hit. Brady Rodriguez(5-1) in his final outing for the A’s got the win going four innings striking out seven and allowing just one hit.

Hollar led Dodge City at the plate going 2-5 with a solo homerun and single. Kyle Cullen was 2-4 with two singles, a walk and a run scored. Jacob Sapp drove in the A’s first run on an RBI groundout in the second inning.

The A’s(16-11) have now won four in a row and eight of their last ten. They are currently in third place in the Jayhawk league, a half game back of Liberal(17-11) and a game ahead of Derby(16-13). Dodge City is back in action Tuesday night at Great Bend, pregame at 6:45 p.m. on 95.5 FM and swksradio.com.
