Railroad crossing repair closes U.S. 283 in Clark County

Union Pacific will begin railroad crossing repairs to the U.S. 283 crossing in Minneola on Wednesday, Aug. 29. U.S. 283 northbound traffic will be detoured east on U.S. 54 to Bucklin and then north on K-34 to the K-34/U.S. 400 junction and then north on U.S. 400 to Dodge City. Southbound traffic will be detoured south on U.S. 400 to the U.S. 400/K-34 junction, then south on K-34 to Bucklin and west on U.S. 54. Repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 31, weather permitting.

KDOT urges drivers to be alert, pay attention to all work zone warning signs, slow down when approaching a work zone and be prepared to stop.
