One person died over the weekend in a fatality crash in Finney County. At 11:31 on Saturday morning, a 2000 GMC Sierra, driven by 22 year-old Mariano Rodriguez of Wichita Falls, Texas was heading eastbound on U50 driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes. A 2006 Pontiac G6, driven by 37 year-old Saine Taw of Garden City was heading westbound in the westbound lane and made an avoidance maneuver and lost control.
The GMC struck the Pontiac on the passenger side, killing 47 year-old Lay Par of Garden City.
Rodriguez and two other passengers in the vehicle, 21 year-old Luz Huerta Perez of Wichita Falls and a 12 year-old were taken to hospitals with suspected serious injuries.
Taw was also taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries.
