Seven area linksters qualify for Kansas Amateur

Southwind Country Club hosted one of six Sectional qualifiers on Wednesday, for the 100th Kansas Amateur Golf Championships to be held at Prairie Dunes Country Club July 19-25 in Hutchinson.

Seven Southwest Kansas Golfers qualified in the Sectional yesterday that included, Dr. Grant Vollerston, Juan Ollarzabel jr, Eric Larson plus Andrew O'Brate from Garden City, Carlos Prieto-Holcomb, Kevin Shook-Elkhart, Scott Abel-Dodge City, Miles Miller-Wellington, Riley Haas-Colby and Erik Mork from Wichita.  Miller and Haas had the top two scores, both shooting five-over 76 for the eighteen holes, Dr. Grant Vollerston finished third with the best area score of 77.
