Recent teen suicides lead to Your Love’s Rally in Dodge City

Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) In the last two months Dodge City has seen four teenagers die by suicide. The recent spike in suicides among young people has rocked the community.

Now a group of residents want to do something about it. The group will hold the “Your Love’s Rally” on Monday April 16 from 2:45 p.m.-3:45 p.m. People will line Ross Blvd. from the high school to 14th St. holding signs of positive messages and love. Lorenzo Gallegos has helped organize the rally.

“Our youth need to know they are not alone, there are a lot of people who care for them and love them. They need to see it, they need to see the love of God. They need
To know that no matter what their problems are or how big they think they are, that they are nothing compared to our GOD, and his grace and love,” said Gallegos.

The idea came from a Facebook post that Gallegos made earlier in the week and spread like wildfire. First Christian Church in Dodge City will hold a poster making event Saturday at noon, the supplies have been donated.

Along with the great response from the community the event is also being supported by local law enforcement, first responders, the Salvation Army and several churches.
