Five-run first inning propels Seattle past the Royals
Kansas City, Mo (westernkansasnews.com)–This year’s slogan for the Kansas City Royals is “Our Time”. Unfortunately as of late, it’s been turning into “Maybe Next Time”. Seattle scored five runs in the first inning on their way to a 9-4 win in the first of four games between the teams this week. Kansas City tried to make a comeback, with a solo home run by Salvador Perez and a two-run blast by Billy Butler in the third inning. Royals starter Jonathan Sanchez gave up seven runs and only retired four batters on the night. Game two of the series is tonight.
