GCHS Buffaloes Lose Tough One at the End to Hays-Audio

Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – Billed as one of the top Football games around Southwest Kansas and a Kansas Preps game of the week as well, it certainly lived up to its billing, as the Garden City Buffaloes lost to the Hays Indians last Firday 29-21. It was also a key Western Athletic Conference match-up with both teams undefeated in league play going in and the winner definitely would get a leg up in the Conference race. With the game tied at 21-21, it all came down to who would make the crucial mistake at the wrong time and the Buffaloes did just that with a interception inside their own 30 with only 1:10 left in the game. Hays would go to their power running game and sophomore quarterback Alex Delton dashed over left tackle for the 5 yard touchdown and the Indians added a 2 point conversion to make the final score 29-21 with only 30 seconds left in the game and the Buffaloes ran out of time. Buffalo Coach Brian Hill talks about his team, their effort and the mistakes that cost them the game.
