Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Wichita State upset the No. 1 ranked team in Gonzaga Saturday night in the third round of the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City, and now one of its players will be having a day for him on Thursday in his hometown.
On Thursday, Scott City will have a special day called “Ron Baker Day”. Scott City mayor Dan Goodman proclaimed the day on Monday, slated for this Thursday, when the Shockers will face La Salle in the Sweet 16 in the West Regional in Los Angeles, slated to tip off at 9:17 pm. A 10 am rally Thursday morning is slated for Baker in the Scott Community High School parking lot.
Baker poured in 16 points, including a 4-for-6 performance behind the three-point line, in their win over the Bulldogs.
