South No 1 Seed Kansas Jayhawks get High Tech Lift
LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – There are a couple of secret weapons that Kansas, the No. 1 seed in the South Region, has in its arsenal heading into the NCAA tournament. The first is strength coach Andrea Hudy, widely considered one of the best in the country, and another is her high-tech weight room. Hudy has been with the Jayhawks since 2004, following a successful run working with the men’s and women’s programs at UConn. She was part of seven national titles with the Huskies, and helped the Kansas men’s team win the 2008 national championship, too. Inside her high-tech weight room, Hudy uses everything from 3D cameras and advanced computer systems to monitor her athletes’ performance, and the results? Well, the Jayhawks are 29-5 and the Big 12 champions once again.
