Lady Buff Soccer Opens North Cup With 7-0 Victory

Wichita, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – The Garden City High School Lady Buff Soccer team opened the Wichita North Cup Soccer Tournament last night with a convincing 7-0 win over Towanda-Circle. The victory moved the Lady Buffs overall record to 6-5-1 on the season. Five players scored for the Buffs, as Megan Martinez and Haley Brenneman each had two goals, Tiffany Butler, Cecilia Alvarez and Evelyn Rodriguez each scored one, as four of the goals came in the first half and three in last 40 minutes. Garden City goalie Ashlee Richman produced 6 saves for the Lady Buffs. Weather related conditions have changed the schedule for tonight, as the Lady Buffs will play the host team Wichita North on Friday night at 5:30.
