Demon soccer remains perfect

Dodge City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Perfection doesn’t necessarily mean just that; there are definitely hiccups along the way. But through four games of the 2013 high school soccer season, Dodge City is unblemished.

Mario Lopez recorded a hat trick and the Red Demons fired 25 shots on goal in a 5-0 rout of previously-unbeaten Wichita South on Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

“We got a lot of shots off,” Head Coach Charles Johnson. “I really like how we’re bonding as a team.”

Brandon Chavez got Dodge City (4-0) on the board in the 30th minute on a beautiful setup from Tim Schwara. Nine minutes later, Lopez added to the tally with one of his three goals on the day.

Leonel Lopez’s goal right before the half gave the Red Demons a 3-0 lead.

It was much of the same in the second half.

Lopez added his second goal in the 61st minute before capping the night with a score just a few minutes later on a pass from Chavez-making it 5-0.
