Superintendent Believes in Common Core

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) There are calls from some groups in Kansas to get rid of Common Core Education standard and they are putting the heat on the legislature. There’s concern about accountability from those who make these standards and that despite what officials say the effort is not state led, but coming from Washington.  USD 443 Superintendent Alan Cunningham of Dodge City disagrees with those criticisms.

Cunningham says Common Core is concerned more with how students came up with an answer rather than the answer itself and that the program originated from the National Governor’s Association and group of school superintendents.
