Garden City, KS (westernkansasradio.com) One thing that may seem contradictory is when Kansas gets upset with the federal government passing regulations on to them, then the state does the same thing to cities and counties. Right now, the state is considering passage of a proposal to eliminate restrictions on concealed carry and for using taxpayer money in gun buyback programs. Garden City Manager Matt Allen says with some exceptions the best solutions come from those closest to the problem.
In this instance, State Representative Bud Estes doesn’t believe the legislature is stepping on toes.
Estes wants uniformity in keeping cities ordiances to uphold the second amendment. Local officials had a meeting last week with state elected officials on a variety of topics and they reported the get together went well.
