Rocky Welton Invitational Update after the 7-16 placing rounds

Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Heading into the finals round of the 56th Annual Rocky Welton Invitational, it looks like the Garden City Buffaloes are in prime position to take first tournament title since 1993. The Buffs have a 29-point lead over St. James Academy, and a 35-point lead over Pine Creek. Heading into the finals, Garden City has three wrestling for the championship, three wrestling for third place and five wrestling for fifth place, including a pair of teammates at 220 pounds. Among other area wrestlers, Dodge City has three wrestling for fifth and one wrestling for third, Scott City has one wrestling for third and one for fith, and Ulysses has one wrestler going for fifth place.
