Zoo Staff Go Extra Mile for Animals Under Their Care
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It definitely feels like winter with the cold winds and blowing snow. For staff at the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City workers attempt to make the animals feel as comfortable as they can.
Zoo director Kathy Sexson says animals are not the only ones she worries about.
Sexson knows they have plenty of practice. Two years ago back to back ice storms made things very dangerous and footing almost impossible.
