Rail Not the Only Topic Discussed on Washington Trip

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Sixty-five officials from SW Kansas visited Washington this week lobbying on key issues in our region.  Beyond a discussion of retaining rail services, Dodge City chamber President Dan Schenkein believes the group made progress on two other issues.

When it comes to rail, Schenkein has been told keeping service may rely on New Mexico making a commitment.  Amtrak and Burlington Northern want 4 states to kick in $40 million over ten years.
