Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) There is renewed concern about the drive for a zero income tax. Governor Sam Brownback has made it one of his top priorities, but not everyone is on board not even in his own party. Representative John Doll is concerned that a cut in income tax has to be offset somewhere else.
The goal is by having no income tax you keep competitive with states like Texas and the Dakotas. Doll says Texas is a perfect example of why Kansas should be careful.
The issue is about to get more debate during next year’s legislative session.
