Law RB named offensive rookie of the year

Dodge City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Dodge City Law running back Dominique Carson has been chosen CPIFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Carson’s impact on the Law was felt both as a running back and kick returner.  Carson finished the season with 371 rushing yards which was tenth in the league and 14 rushing touchdowns, which was tied for fourth in the league.  Carson was equally effective returning kicks as he averaged 20.3 yards per kick return and scored one touchdown.  Carson totaled 1,386 all-purpose yards which was the fourth highest total in the CPIFL.

Carson graduated from Sul Ross State (TX) in 2013.  During his final season at Sul Ross, Carson led all Division-III players in all-purpose yards and tied the NCAA record for touchdowns in a game when he scored eight times against Texas Lutheran.

Law Head Coach Sean Ponder said he is proud of the rookie running back for what he has accomplished.

“After having a great college career, Dominique came to the CPIFL ready to work hard and determined to succeed,” Ponder said.  “He has made a big impact on this team and has earned the respect of his teammates and competitors by proving that he will do what it takes to win.  Dominique is very talented and I look forward to watching him grow as a player and person in the years to come.”
