Senator Moran On VA Scandal, New EPA Regulations
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Now that the dust has settled and General Eric Shinseki has resigned as Veterans Affairs Secretary, Senator Jerry Moran believes it was the right move.
Senator Moran thinks he has the solution to solve the VA mess, so that veterans who need to see a doctor immediately can.
Moran says he would like to see the next Veterans Secretary hired from outside to give the agency a fresh start.
Moran also weighed in on the Environmental Protection Agencies decision to curb coal fired power plant emissions by 23 percent over the next 15 years. Even though the state just gave Sunflower Electric the go ahead for its new 2.8 billion dollar plant near Holcomb, the facility is already getting tightly squeezed.
Moran says the latest science will make Holcomb a shining example.
Moran is convinced the new power plant will benefit Southwest Kansas in two ways, jobs and keeping electricity rates low.
