Freight to Benefit From TIGER Grant
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Last week’s announcement that Garden City received a 12 million dollar TIGER grant for railroad repairs to keep the Southwest Chief was not just well received by travelers. State Secretary of Transportation Mike King knows there is a business elements to this big news too.
The repairs will give Southwest Kansas the ability to act as a secondary line for BNSF reducing shipping costs for companies.
