New EPA Rules Could Sock It To Kansas Ethanol

Topeka, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The State of Kansas is going to court in its latest battle with the Environmental Protection Agency. This time new regulations take aim at ethanol along with the state’s corn and sorghum producers.

Attorney General Derek Schmidt is worried these finding could cause real harm.

The case is pending in the DC Court of Appeals.  Schmidt wants ample opportunity to have the new requirements fully scrutinized.

Schmidt is standing on the side of more local control.

Schmidt knows this key constitutional question will be put before a judge again.

Nebraska has joined Kansas in this lawsuit. No word on when the case will be heard in the DC Court of Appeals.
