Barry Kevin Gunderson, 71, died January 12, 2015 at his residence in Minneola. He was born on January 4, 1944 at Long Beach, Ca the son of B.E.”Gundy” and Frances M. (Yungers) Gunderson.
Barry served in the U.S. Army and Kansas National Guard. In 1967 he graduated with a business degree from the University of Kansas. In 1972 he graduated from K. U. Law School with honors. After college he moved to Dodge City and became a partner with Mangon, Dalton, Trenkle and Gunderson law firm. Barry was a partner in various law firms in Dodge City for over thirty years.
He was a member of the St. Bernard Lodge #222 A.F. & A.M. in Dodge City and numerous legal associations including Kansas Lawyers Assistance Program.
Mr. Gunderson is survived by one daughter, Erika Martin of San Antonio, Tx; two sons, Chad Gunderson of Lawrence and Michael Gunderson of Chicago, Il; one brother, Scott Gunderson of Wichita; and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kip Ryherd presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. and KSARNG military honors. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to C.A.S.A. in care of the funeral home.
