Man From Garden City Dies in Car Accident with Train

Cimarron, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A 45 year old man from Garden City has died after losing control of his car at a railroad crossing and was hit by a train this morning about 1am 3 miles east of Cimarron on US 50.  State troopers identified the victim as  Lahn Trahn.  Trahn’s Lexus came to rest on the tracks where he was hit.  No other information is being released at this time.

State troopers report an accident Friday morning after 10:30 claimed the life of a 45 year old man driving a tanker truck.   Frank Zamarripa Jr, of Ellinwood rear ended another semi at K96 ten miles west of Ness City.  Zamarripa’s tanker truck rolled over resting on its side.   He died a short time later.   The driver of the other semi 58 year old Anthony Durbin of Ransom was taken to Ness County Hospital for examination of his injuries.
