Georgia Ruth Miller

Georgia Ruth Miller, 77 died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born July 4, 1937 in Finney County, Kansas the daughter of Gerald & Alice (Bechelmayr) Dillon.

Georgia has been a lifetime resident of Finney County and Northwest Gray County. She earned a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas. On July 19, 1959 she married Loren D. Miller in Garden City. They lived on the family farm in Northwest Gray County until 1991. They moved into Garden City and have lived in Garden City since. A homemaker, Georgia also worked for many years at H&R Block Tax Services. She later volunteered her time with RSVP in helping residents of Finney County with their taxes at the Finney County Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, her volunteer work, and she loved to serve as a caregiver by taking care of other people.

Survivors include a son Tom Miller and wife Margaret of Ingalls, Ks.; a daughter Pam 
Miller-Jenkins and husband David Jenkins of Omaha, Ne.; a sister Mary Lou Thompson of Nederland, Tx.; and 5 grandchildren Ryan Miller, Emily Miller, Kyle Miller, Dillon Jenkins, and Sean Jenkins. Georgia is preceded in death by her husband Loren who died on October 26, 2009. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Kenneth Dillon and John Dillon; and a sister Virginia Dillon.

A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Jay Stapelton officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorials given to the Finney County Senior Center or to the University of Kansas Endowment both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
