John Wesley Conley, 82, died March 30, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on February 21, 1933 at Brighton, Missouri, the son of Carl and Rosetta (Thompson) Conley. 

John moved to Dodge City with his family from Missouri at the age of eight years. He attended schools in Dodge City. He married Mary Lou Havercroft on January 19, 1952 at Garden City. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2013. He was a U.S. Army veteran. John worked as a truck driver for many years, including Graves trucking, Yellow Freight, and the Santa Fe trucking companies. He later received his real estate license and worked several years for Ford County Realty. In his later years he drove the trolley for the Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and also the Team National Independent Marketing Directors. 

John is survived by two daughters, Karen Steele, Dodge City, Cathy Conley, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, Levi and Luke Steele, both of Dodge City, one granddaughter, Lacy Steele, Temple, Texas; and eight great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Jeff Turner presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 PM.
