Vera E. Hamm, 98, died March 3, 2015 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on July 20, 1916 at Hoisington, the daughter of George and Eva (Siegfried) Eichman. 

Vera was a graduate of Offerle High School. On January 5, 1936 she married Ralph Hamm at Dodge City. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1982. Vera moved to Dodge City in 1955 and was a bookkeeper for the USD#443 food service program. She crocheted over 1000 baby caps for new born infants at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. 

She was a member of the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene and Hospital Auxiliary of Dodge City. 

Vera is survived by a son, Ronald Hamm and wife Evelyn of Dodge City; two daughters, Joyce Mehl and husband Elden of Olathe and Anne Gaffney of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; and two sisters. 

Funeral service will be held at the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Michael Burns presiding. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge City Church of the Nazarene in care of the funeral home.
