Arrest Made in Weekend Murder; Stabbing Being Investigated

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Sunday night shortly before 7, officers responded to a battery call at 4101 Highway 50. When they arrived police found 21 year old Karlton Waechter of Garden City had been shot multiple times.  The victim later died from his injuries at St. Catherine Hospital.  After combing the area, officers found the shooting suspect and and gun believed to have been used.  32 year old Michael George is custody on a charge of first degree murder.  The investigation continues.  

Garden City Police are also on the lookout for a suspect wanted in a stabbing shortly before 3 Monday morning on the 600 block of Long Blvd. The 24 year old victim was treated and released on scene.  Details are sketchy.  Anyone with information is asked to call police.
