Susan (Railsback) Snodgrass, 70, died March 31, 2015 at Presbyterian Manor in Wichita. She was born on October 3, 1944 in San Diego, California to Vera (Shephard) Railsback and Walter Railsback.
Susan attended and graduated from Dodge City High School in 1962, then attended Dodge City Community College before marrying Lloyd Snodgrass on August 31, 1964 in Dodge City. Susan raised her family while also working at Southwest Area Vocational Technical School until 1988 when their family moved to Wamego, Kansas. While in Wamego, Kansas, Susan worked with-in the Wamego Public School system and as a bank teller for First National Bank before moving to Minneola, KS in 1996. Susan supported students with special needs in the Minneola School District. In retirement Lloyd and Susan moved to Wichita to be close to their family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, caring for her granddaughter and attending her granddaughter’s activities.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Snodgrass and two children; son, Matthew Snodgrass and wife Amy of Wichita, Kansas, daughter: Michele (Snodgrass) Ingenthron and husband Dustin of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Madigan Snodgrass. Susan is also survived by three siblings, Karolyn Barnes, Phillip Railsback and Ben Railsback.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the awareness and fight against Alzheimer’s disease made payable to Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Kansas Chapter 1820 E.
