Mildred Bernice McPhail
Mildred Bernice McPhail, 96, of Liberal, KS passed away on May 17, 2015 at the Wheatridge Care Park Center in Liberal, KS.
She was born on October 9, 1918 to George William and Lillie Bernice (Phillips) Warren in Council Grove, KS.
On November 7, 1936 she married Clifford R. McPhail in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1973.
She grew up in the McPherson/Council Grove, KS area. Upon graduating high school she married her husband Clifford. They moved to Liberal from Scott City, KS in 1954. When her children were in high school she went to work at Hi Grade Cleaners then later on went to work at C. R. Anthony’s; from which she later retired.
Mildred enjoyed reading, garage sales, camping, and in her later years she spent time with her friends at the Liberal Senior Center. She also enjoyed spending afternoons with her good friend Oma Bangs eating ice cream and drinking coffee at McDonalds. She was a member of the Central Christian Church
She is survived by Three Sons- Bruce Allen McPhail of Liberal, KS, Clifford McPhail of Cairo, Egypt and Richard McPhail of Liberal, KS; Five Granddaughters- Stephanie Courson of Lawrence, KS, Kandee Brock of Katy, TX, Heather Sramek of Hays, KS, Brenda Johnston of Cabot, AR, Sherry McPhail of Lawrence; Two Grandsons, Brad McPhail, Brian McPhail of Cabot, AR; 10 Great Grandchildren; Three Great Great Grandchildren several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Husband, Clifford Ralph McPhail, Son, Phillip McPhail, Grandson, Mike McPhail, Granddaughter, April McPhail, 5 Sisters and 1 Brother.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Scott Parnell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Cookson Hills Christian Children’s Home in care of Miller Mortuary.
