Police Beat: Arson Fire; Robbery Suspect Arrested
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Police are on the lookout for an arson suspect after receiving a call of a car fire Sunday afternoon at 4 in front of a home on Evans Street. When officers arrived they spotted a white 2004 Lincoln LS engulfed in flames. The vehicle has been deemed a total loss.
Police have arrested a 20 year old robbery suspect. The man identified as Nicholas Bisignano of Grainwood, Missouri is accused of hitting 19 year old Virginia Ortiz over the head, taking her cell phone and causing a cut that needed medical treatment at the hospital. The incident occurred at the Sunflower Inn and the suspect was later found at the Continental Inn.
An accident shortly after 9 Saturday night at the corner of 8th and Walnut resulted in facial injuries to two girls. Police say a four year old was taken to St. Catherine Hospital, but was later release. The other girl was treated on scene. The driver of a GMC Envoy was cited for turning in front of a KIA. The accident is still under investigation.
