AG Schmidt Concerned About Effects of US Supreme Court’s ACA Ruling

(westernkansasnews.com) The Supreme Court upheld another key provision of Affordable Care Act Thursday on a 6-3 vote. Despite 33 states including Kansas not setting up their own healthcare exchanges, subsidies going to residents of these states were deemed legal. The contention from those who sued was Congress only authorized to spend money for states setting up their own exchanges. The implications from the ruling concerns State Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

There are other legal challenges to ACA, but none of them would result in the law being struck down.
