HorseThief Reservoir Welcomes Recent Rains

Jetmore, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It has been a long time for HorseThief Reservoir. There is one magic word that has lifted their spirits, water.

HorseThief Reservoir Manager Joshua Hobbs says they only received an inch and a half of rain that day, but points to the west received three to ten inches over a series of days. Now there is enough water for everyone.

All this water before this weekend’s HorseThief Festival comes at just the right time. It is not all good news. Wilson Lake on the Russell/Lincoln County Line remains at historic lows.
