Southwest Kansans to be a part of Kansas Shrine Bowl Saturday

Hays, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Saturday marks the 42nd annual East-West Kansas Shrine Bowl game, and this year’s shrine bowl features several southwest Kansas athletes and coaches on the West team.

For starters, two head coaches in the region are on the coaching staff. Meade head coach Scott Moshier is the West’s head coach, and has Scott City head coach Glenn O’Neil on the coaching staff.

Four area players will put on their high school’s helmet one final time, including AJ Cooper from Cimarron, Caleb Tramp from Garden City, Blake Richmeier from Holcomb, and Sloan Baker from Scott City.

The Shrine Bowl, with ticket sales benefiting Shriners Hospitals, will kick off at 7:05 Saturday night in Hays at Lewis Field Stadium on the campus of Fort Hays State University.
