Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) After seven long years the murder case of Brock Cunningham for the 2008 death of his girlfriend’s three year old daughter has come to a close with a verdict of not guilty. Jurors spent three hours deliberating before making their announcement. Cunningham was facing charges of first degree murder and child abuse in the death of Natalie Pickle. The investigation took five years before an arrest was made.
An autopsy shows the girl died of a severe head injury. Cunningham and his mother contend the girl had fallen a day or so before her passing. Doctors testified that Pickle’s injuries were not consistent with those resulting from a fall, but their testimony was not enough to sway the jury.
