Commission Approves Moving Elephants From Lee Richardson Zoo

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City Commission acting on a recommendation from an advisory committee at Lee Richardson Zoo has approved transfer of the two elephants they currently have to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. A date for transfer still has not been determined.

Kimba and Missy will be joining four other elephants at their new home in Colorado Springs. Since elephants are highly social animals and because of Missy advanced age at 46 this was deemed the best option by those close to the situation.
