Freda B. Kirchoff
Freda B. Kirchoff, age 90, of Garden City, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Legacy at Parkview in Ulysses. She was born December 31, 1924 to George & Dorthea (Hilgenberg) Killian. She graduated from Garden City High School. On October 8, 1944 she married Roy Kirchoff in Garden City.
A resident of Finney County since high school and a lifetime homemaker, Mrs. Kirchoff was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Garden City where she served in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was also active in EHU and the Senior Center. She enjoyed tole painting, crocheting and calligraphy.
Survivors include a son, Rodney Kirchoff and wife, Elizabeth of Garden City, a daughter, Gail Traugott and husband, David of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Freda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died May 27, 2011, 5 brothers, Harvey, Bill, David, George Jr. and Leo Killian and 5 sisters, Amelia “Peggy” Mai, Elma Roush, Verna Wacker, Elsie Rounkles & Lori “Gladys” Killian.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Timm Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Family requests memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden city. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 8:00 p.m. Friday with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to visit with friends.
