Grover M. Whipple, 74, died September 26, 2015 at his home near Kalvesta. He was born on March 13, 1941 at Beeler, the son of Virgil Thomas and Ethel Viola (Stout) Whipple. 

Grover grew up on the family farm south of Beeler and was a graduate of Beeler High School. He married Ruby Prose on July 22, 1967 at Ness City. Grover attended Missouri Auction School and a mechanics school in Kansas City. He was a longtime farmer and rancher north of Kalvesta and especially enjoyed the calving season. Grover enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending all their activities. 

He was a member of Pawnee Watershed, Pawnee Acres Card Club and Ingalls Booster Club. 

Grover is survived by his wife Ruby Whipple of the home; three sons, Tim Whipple and wife Jodi of Pierceville, Tony Whipple and wife Christy of Kalvesta, and Toby Whipple and wife Shelly of Kalvesta; seven grandchildren, Tara, Tacy, Blaine, Hadley, Kiley, Kami, and Karlee ; two brothers, Vryl Whipple and wife Neah of Beeler and Tom Whipple of Canon City, Colorado; and brother-in-law, Larry Prose and wife Linda of Anthem, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Trent Whipple. 

Funeral service will be held at Cimarron United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Mike Keating presiding. Burial will follow at Buda Cemetery in Ness County. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
