Zoo Director Confident Elephants Will Receive Best of Care
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The issue is complex, but the solution appears simple. Officials at Lee Richardson Zoo wanted to keep both 46 year old Missy and 33 year old Kemba together. It was decided that the elephants should be moved to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs earlier this week. Kristi Newland Director at Lee Richardson Zoo knows her friends will have the care they need.
The zoo in Colorado Springs also has several elephants already. Its anticipated both Missy and Kemba will be moved sometime in October.
