Eric Michael Torres
Eric Michael Torres, 24, died October 20, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on June 15, 1991 at Dodge City, the son of Francisco and Tamatha (Freeman) Torres.
He was a lifetime Dodge City resident. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 2009. He attended classes at DCCC. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. After four years of service to his country, he returned to Dodge City and was working as a truck driver for Glazers Trucking in Dodge City. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed building items with Legos, and loved music. He was actively pursuing a career as a helicopter pilot.
Survivors include his parents, Tamatha Freeman, Francisco Torres, and Daniel Yebra, five brothers, Zachary Freeman, Issac Freeman, Cristian Torres, Joseph Freeman, and Cristian Palornares, all of Dodge City, and grandmother, Sharon Batchelor, Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, with Rev. Luis Llamas presiding. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to service time Friday, October 23, 2015 at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Military rites will be provided by the Howard Gotschall Post # 1714, and the KSARNG military honors, both of Dodge City. Cremation will follow the services.
