Garden City Volleyball Ends Senior Night on High

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City High School Volleyball Team hosted Senior Night on Thursday and were able to sweep their way past Ulysses, Scott City and Dodge City on their way to a 20-12 record to end the regular season.   The wins extend the Lady Buffs winning streak to 10 in ending the regular season.

The Demons were competitive in both ends of the match, but despite getting out to an early lead in game one the first game slipped away from Dodge City and in the second game Garden City was able to hold on late as Jessie Harshberger’s serve went into the net on game point.  Kyra Bellows led Garden with 26 kills.

Dodge City went 1-2 on the night losing to Ulysses in three tight games , while beating Scott City in the third and final game.  The Demons dropped their record to 12-20.  Ulysses took care of Scott City in two games to go 2-1 in the quad improving to 17-14 on the year.

For both Dodge City and Garden City they have a little more than a week before the WAC championships in Great Bend October 17th.  Both Ulysses and Scott City will go to the GWAC tournament in Holcomb the same day.
