Angus G. Snyder, Sr., 87, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City. 

He was born March 18, 1928 on the family farm in Hodgeman County, the son of Fred D. and Leah (Ford) Snyder. A Ford County resident most of his life, he worked in sanitation at National Beef in Dodge City. 

He was a member of Grace Community Church and Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 both in Dodge City as well as AARP. 

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. 

On August 26, 1955 he married Betty L. Patton at Dodge City. She preceded him in death on November 7, 2011. 

Survivors include: 2 sons, Angus, Jr. and wife Lori, Spearville and Grant, Dodge City; a daughter, Diana Shearer and husband Jack, Memphis, Tennessee; 3 brothers, Daniel Snyder, Dodge City, Nobel Snyder, Dodge City and Ross Snyder, Ford; a sister, Delores Phillips, Macksville; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant brothers, 3 sisters, Virginia Snyder, Wanda Leisure and Bernice Boehme and a brother, Luther. 

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Rev. Kirk Larson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Dodge with full military honors by Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and Military Honors for the State of Kansas. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
