Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Dodge City High School Biology Teacher Shannon Ralph was named the 2015 State of the Year. Another teacher will keep the prestigious award in Dodge City for 2016. It was announced Saturday night by State Education Commissioner Randy Watson, DCHS Mathematics Teacher Justin Coffey has received the same award for being the state’s best teacher.
Coffey will receive 4,000 dollars, free enrollment to several state universities for life and will travel the country as part of education forums representing both Dodge City and the State of Kansas. Coffey is also a head wrestling coach in the district working with middle school kids.
