Jacqueline “Jackie” Claire Trindle

Jacqueline “Jackie” Claire Trindle went to be with her family in heaven on November 3, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on April 22, 1925 at St. John, the daughter of Frederick J. Fry IV and Mabel Claire (Brown) Fry. 

She graduated from high school in Kansas City, Missouri in 1943 and then attended The University of Missouri Kansas City. Jackie then attended the Kansas City Art Institute where she majored in fashion design. She and Joseph “Jay” Goodhue Trindle were married December 18, 1949, in Winfield. They moved to Dodge City in the fall of 1950. 

Jackie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City, where she served in numerous leadership roles. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Women, President of Circle 3, sang in the choir, and was willing to lend a helping hand where ever it was needed. Jackie was also an active participant in community and civic activities such as PEO Chapter CF, where she held local and state offices, The Depot Theater Guild, The Carnegie Center, and Philomath and was involved in the early formative years of Community Concert. She was also a member of Sports Car Club of America, Porsche Club of America, and loved participating in sports car rallies. 

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Freda Fry of Falcon, Colorado; two nieces, Pamela Wagner and husband Duane of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dana Clevenger and husband Emmett of Ozark, Missouri; six grand nieces and nephews, thirteen great grand nieces and nephews; cousins, Harry Fry of Ulysses, Janet Leaming of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Elaine Langston of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Donnie Sligar of Hutchinson, Andee Fry of Montezuma, Jane Brown of Kansas City, Missouri; and a multitude of friends with whom she joyfully lived her life. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph “Jay” Goodhue Trindle; and brother, Frederick J. Fry V 

Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding. Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Monday at the Larned Cemetery in Larned. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from Noon to 6:00 PM.
