Dan “Wayaha” McClure

Dan “Wayaha” McClure, a.k.a. “Bullwinkle” 51 died Monday, December 28, 2015 in Garden City. He was born March 6, 1964 in Caldwell, Idaho the son of Jack A. & Alice (Sisco) McClure.
Dan lived the majority of his adult life in Wichita, Kansas and recently moved back to Garden City. He was very proud of being a citizen of the Western Cherokee Nation and was able to speak in the native Cherokee language. He also was an accomplished artist who owned and worked in his own tattoo/piercing shops in Kansas and Missouri. He was particularly well know for his tattoo portraits and custom artwork. To all of his clients, he would have said, “Wado” for the support over the years. “DO AN DA GO HV I” (Until we see each other again.)
Survivors include five children Rochelle McClure of Garden City, Jessie & husband Patrick Pinchon of Garden City, Mark D. McClure of Garden City, Evan A. McClure of Garden City, and Morgan McClure of Rogue River, Oregon; his father Jack A. & wife Kathy McClure of Omaha, Nebraska; his mother Alice & husband Dave McElwain of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three sisters Catherine & husband Michael Schumacher of Carlsbad, California, Corissa & husband Brian Post of Golden, Colorado, and Marney & husband Chris Shirrel of Springdale, Arkansas, a step-sister Michelle McElwain Jackson of Yukon, Oklahoma; a step-brother Chris McElwain of Plains, Kansas; eleven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved his family and was most proud of each and every one. Dan is preceded in death by a grandson Lukas Edward Burris.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
