Lucile M. Kitten, 87, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Windsor Estates Nursing Home, Salina. 

She was born January 8, 1928 at Wright, Kansas, the daughter of John and Mary (Hartman) Lutz. A Dodge City resident since 1951, until moving to Salina in August 2010, after a head injury. She was a cake decorator and enjoyed making wedding and novelty cakes for many years 

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Daughters of Isabella, Altar Society, Women of the Moose, Senior Friends, RSVP, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, TFT Club, A Bridge Club, and Boot Hill Red Hatters. 

On January 7, 1948 she married Virgil Kitten at Wright. He preceded her in death on May 28, 1998. 

Survivors include: her son, Raymond Kitten, Jacksonville, Arkansas; her daughter, Joan Dellinger and husband Bill, Salina; a sister-in-law, Yong Ja Lutz, Springfield, Missouri; and 2 grandchildren, Aaron and Brent Dellinger. 

She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Bill and Phillip Lutz, 6 sisters, Sr. Mark, Sr. Canisius, Sr. Mary Jane, Catherine Knoeber, Josephine Strecker and Emma Burke, a brother-in-law, Sylvester Kitten and 2 sisters-in-law, Sr. Loretta Kitten and Mary Alice Conrardy. 

Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be 4:00 pm Wednesday. December 30, 2015 and Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Wednesday both at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Thursday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 901 Central Ave., Dodge City with Fr. Aneesh Parappanattu and Fr. Robert Schremmer presiding. Inurnment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. There will be no public visitation, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from noon to 7:00 pm Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. 

The family suggests memorials to Gentiva Hospice of McPherson or the Alzheimer’s Association both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
