George “Marty” Martin Tyler Sr.
George “Marty” Martin Tyler Sr., 78, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016.
He was born April 16, 1937 at Cimarron, Kansas, the son of Oscar and Florence (Neil) Tyler.
On October 3, 1960 he married Essie Ann Knauf in Ulysses, Kansas. She preceded him in death on July, 12, 2000. On November 17, 1982 he married Susie Tautfest in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2010.
Other survivors include: one son, George M. Tyler Jr. and wife Pam, Dodge City; four sisters, Beverly Helton, Gastoria, North Carolina, Kathy Santos, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jeanette Nuckles, Gastoria, North Carolina, Sharron Edworthy, Dodge City, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Huffman and husband Tony, April Pogue and husband Daniel, Derick Tyler and wife Jenni; Six great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and Alan Tyler and sister Charleen Mobley.
Private Memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday January 15, 2016 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Ford County Humane Society in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
