Allen Worried About Drive to Remove Exemptions For Property Tax Lid
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Some people are worried it could make a bad law much worse. Garden City Manager Matt Allen says the legislature is now pushing forward with removing exemptions for the property tax lid place on local governments last year.
Allen believes this could have dire economic consequences long-term.
While still in discussion phase, Allen says the move even goes beyond what the Kansas Association of Realtors wanted and could be counterproductive to their organization’s goals.
