Robert “Bob” Reed
Robert “Bob” Reed, 74 died Friday, March 4, 2016 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born September 24, 1941 in Luray, Kansas the son of Raymond
Junior & Barbara Jean (Springstead) Reed.
Bob has lived his entire life in the Garden City area. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1959 and then attended Garden City Community College. Bob worked in dirt construction for most of his life where he owned and operated various businesses. He also served as a volunteer fireman with the Garden City Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed his work, hunting, animals, drag racing in his younger years, and having coffee with friends.
On August 9, 1964, he married Bonnie Will in Ulysses, Kansas. Later, Bob married Jolene Koppel Morgan on July 23, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters Toni Braun of Garden City, Kansas, Traci Fontana of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Teesha Reed of Garden City, Kansas; a step-daughter Angela Arnett of Garden City, Kansas; four grandchildren Dylan Burns, Drake Holmes, Isa Fontana, & Linden Fontana; and two step-grandchildren Allie Cooper and Avery Cooper. Bob is preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Bob Reed Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
