Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Five years ago, Kansas Wesleyan did not even have a bowling team. In fact last season they were idle.
But the new program is gaining traction in a hurry. That was enough for three Buffalo bowlers.
State champ Tristan Funk along with teammates Mickey Bridges and Hailey Park all signing national letters of intent with the first-year program on Thursday.
Funk is coming off an individual state title after rolling an 803 series in Wichita. The senior had interest from both Wichita State and Newman University.
As for Park, it was the campus itself that set everything apart.
“It’s beautiful,” Park said. “Plus I get to stay close to home.”
The first-year program is run by Todd Zenner.
